I'm interested in cities: how they develop, how they innovate and the impact of the choices they make on the people who live in them.
How we choose to create our cities and who is included in the decision making process has an enormous and often untold impact on the quality of life that we all have a share in. A big fan of co-production, shared service design and open data, my projects often include one or more of these elements.
In this section you'll find examples of cultural policy and strategy, European peer-learning and bench-marking projects, community development and engagement and projects that champion the use of culture, art and playful experimentation in bringing people together and creating collaboration in the most unlikely of places between the most surprising of people.
Culture Strategy for Leeds
The new Culture Strategy for Leeds 2017-2030 is the city's first ever co-produced strategy. Spanning 13 years the strategy has pioneered adopting co-production and service design techniques to develop an open and iterative strategy that can be adapted throughout its life span.
UCLG & CAE Pilot Cities PROGRAMME
An innovative European and international project, Pilot Cities is a peer-learning programme focused on the role of culture across policy areas from education and economy to urban planning, cultural rights and governance, and how cities use culture to create sustainable futures.
